This is an accessible contemporary Christian song, tuneful and easily learned by a congregation. Behind the accessibility and simplicity, there is a thoughtful consideration of the role of beauty in the Christian life. The idea that grace invites us to be beautiful rings true. We are indeed invited to be transformed from one degree of glory to another (2 Corinthians 3:18). The language of “invitation” fits well with the idea that beauty is that which draws us, and that God’s own beauty draws us to Him. Several of the songs on this album include references to beauty, including “You Are the Sun,” “Why It Matters,” and “Loving a Person,” but it is the title song that is the most insightful. If you are looking to add an emphasis on beauty to your contemporary worship service, consider adding this song to your repertoire.
